This might be the most baller bike ever.  Iron Horse Sunday Elite.  I want one.

I'm starting to fear that I will buy a Downhill/Freeride bike in the next year.  This scares me because I'll have to start doing stuff that justifies owning it.  waaaaah

Yeah I'm already looking at more DH/FR style bikes. Unfortunately my aforementioned dream bike, the Transition Vagrant, is out. I emailed Transition and they said they're not making it any more. BOO.  Butt
If I can't have a Vagrant, I guess this would be a good option:

That's pretty similar to the bike you have now, but with gears.

Yeah but the Ruckus has more XC geometry and is steel. Plus it's not as beefy. And obviously I'd run the Chameleon as a single speed.  Ninja
Somebody - I won't say who - is going to Dan's after work to pick up a 2008 Giant STP SS.

So did you get it?

In a word, "yes."

It's awesome. Beefy as hell. Can't wait to do some serious riding. Instead of the roadie thing on Sunday, you interested in a downtownie thing?

Possibly.  Marc is already setting lofty and unrealistic goals for riding something like 600 miles at Scales tomorrow, so I'll have to see how my legs feel.

I rode the STP around a bit this afternoon. I'm loving the bike. Things I have noticed:

- The stock grips blow, and it's dumb to ride without gloves
- The cranks are 170s (interesting, since I got a large. I expected 175s or even 180s)
- This thing is BEEF. Holy crap is it stout.

I'm also perfecting a new trick. I call it the "lift the front wheel off the ground, then let it fall down without crashing the bike" trick. I'm getting very good at it.
