Bike Shopping

I would have to disagree. I seldom make adjustments after setting up my bars and seat; I know what fits and I don't have to ride my bike inside for hours to figure it out.  Of course being on your bike is the advantage of a fluid trainer, but I would much rather have a piece of fitness equipment (that feels realistic enough) than bring my dirty mountain bike inside and bolt it to a stand that costs as much as said fitness equipment.

But that's only my opinion and I'm sure Nathan will get what suits him best.
Mtn bikes and road bikes are a bit different. Being in a position on a road bike for a little bit can feel fine. After a little while that's when you start to feel the problems either with your hips or your back allowing you to then adjust your seat/stem accordingly.

I'll be using my road bike on the trainer.  Mountain bike tires seem like they would be a bit ... bumpy.

Good points, I don't own a road bike so I lack that perspective.  It's possible I'll be looking for one in the spring, but we'll see what toy I end up going for.

Bike looks great and the price was great! I sold mine for $700 and it was 2 years old and looked ridden. I almost pulled the plug on a new roadie over the weekend. I'm on a Fuji kick right now, however I feel too hipsterish looking at them. I will most likely buy another Tomasso. I loved my last one. Samantha rides Trek and it's been pretty trouble free. The wheel set needs trued about once a season. Her's is a WSD and we spent a lot of time setting it up. Mine was set up at a shop to fit me. Next time will be the same....Getting fitted took a lot of guess work and trial and error out in about an hour of waiting. SIlly little adjustments like seat tilt and small movements back or forward and bar angle to match made my ride soooo much more comfortable on the long haul. I mean don't get me wrong, I've set up my BMX and MTB plenty of times. Not a lot of tweaking. I mean hell you stand up most of the time haha...

When I ride, my hands cramp up between my thumb and my index finger. My friend said it was because my seat was too high. I haven't adjusted it and I'm out of town now (left the bike at home till it warms up), so I'm curious as to what I should try when I go home to pick it up.

Here's to honor.
You gotta get honor, and stay honor.
If you get bucked off,
get back honor.
And if you can't come in her,
come honor.
It may not necessarily be the height of the seat but the tilt of the nose. Sounds like you may be trying to slide of the saddle and you are pushing bak on the bars a bit.
A lot of my weight is on my hands, guess I've got some tinkering to do.

Don't put it all on your butt an legs though. You want to keep a good weight balance all over

If your stem is to long you'll naturally over compensate the reach thus shifting the weight forward as well.
