Crank Brothers 5050XX: A Photo Essay

I love Crank Brothers stuff. Their design aesthetic reminds me a lot of Apple. I love the way they put thought into everything, even the packaging.

Even the little plastic tub that contains extra pins in the last picture has a Crank Brothers logo on it. Damn I love this shit. I'm such a sucker for good design.
Wow, I didn't realize they even came with extra cages. Nice buy! When are you going to try them out?

Whenever I ride next. I'll be slapping them and the new Thomson post I bought on today. Also picked up some RaceFace locking grips.

Damn you Dan's people, you keep taking my money and all I get in return is great bike stuff!

It would be really cool if you posted these next to your old pedals.  I need some wider platforms and want to see how these compare.

That's some nice packaging.

Ask and ye shall receive. Pedals, from left to right: Crank Brothers 5050XX, stock pedals from the GT Ruckus, Wellgo platforms from my STP

The angle of the picture makes the 5050s look smaller than they are. The GTs are by far the smallest. The Wellgos and the 5050s are fairly close; but the 5050s are flatter and have more material contacting the shoe so they feel bigger, at least to me.

I really like the 5050s based on the very brief ride up and down the block this afternoon. You're welcome to try them some time, or the Wellgos on the STP.
This is all unnecessary if you would have stuck with clipless!

Seriously, I have become a big Crank Bros fan after you told me to get some.  My Smarty's came with cool packaging, and they are holding up well for being the bottom barrel of Crank Bros stuff.  Cheers to Crank Brothers!

I would be dead if I had stuck with clipless. I am on an off the bike too much at Scales to ride clipless pedals. Maybe one day I will go back, but I have a lot of riding and improving to do before I get there.

Crank Brothers fo' life! They have some real sweet stuff coming out, too. The stuff they demoed at Interbike is the shizzle.
