I broke my bike. :(

I was out riding Mt Vernon with a buddy last night. I 180'd off a picnic table that was about handlebar heigt, and when I landed the bike just blew up out from under me. This is what happened:

I've been riding them for around 2 years now, so they held up pretty well I guess.

Well you probably got your money's worth out of them then. Still sucks though. I wonder where you get a new set of BMX cranks? confused

I couldn't tell you. It may take years of searching before I find another set!!

That last picture reminds me of someone holding up a broken connecting rod. Is this a common thing? It literally looks like an explosion would have caused that. Nice thread tag.

It's not that common AFAIK. This is the first major bike part I've ever actually "broken", so I almost feel accomplished.

As far as it  hurting, the only thing that hurt about it was when my back slammed the ground. My leg never actually touched the crank arm when it broke.

Congrats on the breakage. The worse I have done which I'm sure you've done as well.....bent the shaft and stripped out the pedal holes.......oh, I've bent the pedals as well....I've never seen anyone break what you broke. I'd be proud haha. Might have warranty  wordjo

Yup, they got replaced the next day for free.  smug It's great to work at the world's biggest BMX company.
