My newest project

I was building this bike with the intentions of using it for triathlons and for use on velodrome tracks. I know it's pretty much unheard of to use a fixed gear for triathlons but geared road bikes just don't cut it for me. I know I can stop pedaling with a geared bike and it's the equivalent to when you are running and "hit the wall" I'm just waiting for my new clipless pedals to get here and it's good to go.
Yeahh.... good luck with that. Do you already ride it often? If so, what is your average pace?

I have not rode this bike once. I just finally got my bars yesterday. I really do ride better with a fixed gear than I do with any other style hub. And it is legal to use as long as I can rig brakes onto it
Hmmm, well good luck. If you have an Android phone or iPhone you should download RunKeeper and set the activity to "Cycling". It tracks your routes, top speed, elevation climb, average speed, average pace, distance, time, etc.

It's mostly for use on a velodrome but I am intending to do a few triathlons with it next year. I know people use cycling apps but I didn't know that it tells you all that info
Yup, it's nice.

There's a good chance I'll be doing the Sprint Triathlon at Scales in August since I'll be in town. Not expecting to do great since I never run, but what I lack there I hope to make up in cycling. Running is bad for your orthopedics anyway, idk why people do it.

I think where many people go wrong is that they don't see running specialists when buying running shoes. And shoes can either make or break your run. I know that when I went to see one they said they've never seen anybody that really runs like me and recommended shoes that were perfect. And now running just feels like running. I don't get winded or start having any leg pains.
Great shoes definitely make the difference, but it's still a lot of impact on your joints, especially if you run multiple times a week for many years. My sister is super fit, runs every day, even ran a half marathon last month, but she already has knee issues at 24.

I have them at 21...thanks army.
