Ride @ Angel Mounds (thread 3.0)

I split these posts from the trail maintenance thread, since it kinda got derailed.  Cheers  -nathan

Sweet. Good to hear it's all passable.

Right now I plan on going out there to ride tomorrow after work if anyone wants to join me and the old lady.

I would go, but it seems that taking a softball to the back of the skull is messing with my basic motor skills.  I need to rest so that I am on top of my game at Scales on Saturday.

I'd be down to go out there and ride tomorrow, but we have to get out there as early as possible.  It gets dark too damn early now.  The only riding I did today was with a chainsaw rigged to my back with a backpack.

I'll get home, change and get out there asap,  should give us at least an hour of daylight to ride.

Yesterday I got home, changed clothes, filled the camelbak, changed the chain on the saw, went and got fuel and lube for it, then drove to Angel Mounds and got there right at 6.  I want to try and make it there by 5:30 today if I can.  By 6:45 it's almost completely dark in the woods.

well I took my bike to gilles today, there are problems with the bottom bracket, hopefully it doesn't have to be replaced.  I can never remember his name but the older mechanic who is often out at angel mounds told me that they were the ones who got everything cleared and passable.  The DNR guy has your saw blade in his shed too Nathan.
I would have gone riding tonight too but it looks like my bike is down for at least a week.  The threads on one side of my frame in the bottom bracket area have completely stripped, apparently they make a bottom bracket that is made to work in frames with stripped threads and that will probably be my first course of action.  Otherwise Specialized said they would sell me an epic frame for 1k  Shit!

Weak.  They probably have a bunch of old FSR frames sitting in the corner of a warehouse collecting dust...

DansComp has some pretty nice Spesh frames in the showroom.  Dance

The STP would be miserable to ride on trails.  The seat post is only about 6" long, and if I sit on the saddle while pedaling I almost knee myself in the shoulders.

Got in a pretty good ride tonight.  Probably try to head out there again tomorrow and then downtown on friday.

Dammit, I'm pissed my bike's broke, who in town has a thread less bottom bracket!!! suicide

Bt threadless, do you mean American (cups press into the frame)? If so I can probably get you some.

well its a specialized fsr frame, and the threads for the bottom bracket stripped out on the drive side I believe (the frame stripped, not the bottom bracket). thus I need a bottom bracket that has some other form of attachment for frames suffering from this problem.

Are there any remnants of the threads left? If so you can probably bring it here to Dans and have it re-threaded.

The bike is at gilles right now, if you think there is something you could do i will bring gladly bring it to dan's.  I personally have not seen the damage though.
Definitely going out there,  be there about 5:45.  Not that anyone besides Nathan and I care.
Good ride tonight,  good to see db could get out with a loaner bike.    A trail maint. day is definitely needed just to get all the sticks picked up off the trails,  the major damage is taken care of,  but some sticks are in bad spots for the overall rhythm.

If it doesn't rain I think I'm gonna try to make it out to AM tonight.  I feel like doing a nice steady ride for 2 or 3 laps to work some of the soreness out of my legs.
