Ride @ Angel Mounds - Saturday, 9:00AM

I just end up falling down or nearly falling down over the particularly rutty sections. I'm sure general bike skill has a lot to do with it too, I'm not a great rider so I probably hit stuff others don't. But I know when I deflated my tires a bit I was a lot more stable, so I have to think wider would help.

Of course nothing will help more than a lot more practice.
I ended up testing our "tree stairs" ramp thing two more times, and then I rode various loops of the main thing trying to become familiar with the trail for about 30 more minutes after you guys left.  I ran out of water and got bored because there was no one to talk to.  It was a good time, and the trail was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.

Also, Zandr and I suck at clipping in while stationary.
I have gradually been getting more sick as the day goes on .. I was fine this morning, now my fucking throat is killing me. I'm going to attempt to be there at 9AM tomorrow. But if I wake up tomorrow and don't feel better I'm skipping it.

Unless I can ride a wheelie around the entire trail, with no handlebars, I probably won't make it. frown

You switching to the mountain bike unicycle idea eh?
I did not make it either. I slept for 14.5 hours and spit up some blood.

You are such a pansy.

Update, I have now slept for 19 hours.
I'm strongly contemplating getting some wider tires. The 2.2s on my bike are decent but I feel like roots and ruts keep knocking me off balance, 2.35 or 2.5 might be more stable.

I have 2.4s and rear suspension and it still bounces like fuck out there.   The only solution is to get a cordless sawzall and take care of those roots.

What did you do?

Something went wrong with the fork.  It will only compress 45mm before bottoming out on something internally.  People on MTBR think it's a problem with the U-turn assembly that adjusts the travel and I tend to agree.  I gave the fork to Frank and the guys at Dan's are gonna look at it.

After my ugly sickness earlier this week I need to get out and ride. Unfortunately I have to work Saturday morning 'til around noon. If the weather stays nice, anyone up for an afternoon ride Saturday?

That would be perfect, actually.  I went out to Dan's Comp to pick up my fork today (it's fixed, hooray!) and Frank mentioned that he'd like to go out there possibly Saturday afternoon.

Also, I'm all for getting to sleep in on Saturday.  Dance

I'm down for whenever.  Just call me an hour in advance because I'll probably be asleep.  Big Grin

I'm heading out to Angel Mounds right now to do a few shakedown laps.  I'll see you guys tomorrow.

I'd hesitate to say a time because I don't know exactly what time I am leaving work tomorrow. I've been told it'll be "around noon." So I could probably do 2-3p, but I'll need to come home and eat first and load up the gear.

If you guys want to keep it loose that would work best for me, I can post something from work tomorrow or give you a call. Or you can go out there at whatever time you go and if I can make it I will and if not I'll ride by myself. Ain't no thang.  Ninja
Anybody up for riding on Monday too?

I wanted to try to get out there a little earlier....maybe around noon.  It doesn't really matter though.

Frank, what time is good for you?  Just let me know and I'll meet you there.

It's looking less like I'll be able to ride .. even if I get off work @ 11a, I still have to put my roof rack on and change the tube in my rear tire, plus I'm still about 2% sick from last week (mostly sinusy). So don't worry about making sure I can make it, I'm going to try but I may just have to bail today. WE'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED RIGHT AFTER THIS Never Forget
