A new thread for a new season...

The weather is supposed to be pretty nice this week.  Anyone think they'd be able to make it out to Scales after work some time?  I could probably be there around 5:45-6:00.  That would give us about an hour of daylight, and at my current fitness level that should be about enough time for one lap.  cool

Since I last rode on January 3rd, I guess I already started this 2009 season. Anyway, I have to work Monday-Thursday.  The earliest I get off is 5, so that doesn't leave any time to get home, get ready, and ride.  I'm going to Florida from March 20-30, but after that it's on and I will be down for some riding on the weekends.
No can do evenings for now. I clocked the trip last time I went to Scales - IIRC it takes me about 45 minutes to get there. That's just too long a trek to make just to race daylight trying to finish one lap. Maybe in the summer when the evenings are a little longer, but for now I'm out.

I went out and did 1 lap minus the Miracle today.  Jesus Christ am I in terrible shape.  I didn't think I'd lose this much over the winter but I've got a loooooong way to go this year.

The trails are in good shape and pretty much dry.  There are some soft spots in the usual areas but no mud or puddles or anything.  cool

I only managed to take 1 picture while I was out there, because the rest of the time I was just trying not to die.

I'll be there today around 1:30-2, anyone showing up?

I was in Louisville all day.  Stopped at a bike shop and looked at your new bike though. smile

I'm thinking about going tomorrow.

I'll be going mid afternoon.
Getting stuff done this morning, if anyone else is going I'll be getting there at 4:30
Thinking about doing a light ride @ Scales tomorrow around noon. Not 100% sure but figured I'd chum the waters. Anyone interested?

I don't plan on riding at anything other than a relaxed pace. I'm super out of shape from winter so this would be kind of a warm-up.

I'd go under 2 conditions: It wasn't wet, and my rear wheel wasn't semi-tacoed.  Sorry brah, I'm gonna order some new wheels this week then I'll be ready to go.

I'm going the cheap but strong route.  Thinking about the Azonic Outlaws, then I'll steal yours when you aren't looking.  cool

Probably not going .. sitting here is really easy and getting up is hard. Not quite ready to start the season anyway.
I'm off work this Thursday so I might go out there during the day if the weather cooperates.

I'd love to but I have to work and I'm still waiting on the new wheels.

Holy crap, there is now a teeter-totter near the cemetery.  I didn't ride it, but it looks rad. Frank M did tons of work out there and put up a fence and an awesome thing so you don't have to ride down that gravel/rocky area to enter that loop.

I rode 3 laps and 1 ultimate. I'm more out of shape than I thought, because I was really hurting at the end. Feels good to be back though.

Holy shit.  3 laps and I'd be dead, so you aren't THAT out of shape.

I saw the teeter-totter and a few other new things on HMBA(i think).org posted by someone I incorrectly assumed was you.  Guy's username was Daniel240.

IIRC, that's another Daniel B that drives a dark green zenki S14 with a turbo'd KA24. He used to post on here a long, long time ago.
It must be my doppelganger. The stuff is really neat, though.

That looks like a lot of fun. I might try to go Saturday if the rain holds off.

If it dries up enough I would love to go ride tomorrow.
